Excerpt:

Sitting at her friend’s house on Monday morning detailing what happened on Friday was not fun for Vanessa. No one wants to relieve the worst day of their lives, and the same could be said for her. If it hadn’t been for the constant of the coffee break with her friend, she wouldn’t have been bothered going out at all. She felt drained and was still upset about what happened Friday evening.

“I still can’t believe he stood you up.” Jasmine set her coffee mug aside and laid her hand over Vanessa’s.

“Men are assholes,” she replied.

“Did he ever contact you to explain?”

“No, and after this, I don’t want to talk to him again.”

“Don’t give up on the man of your dreams yet. You never know, around the next corner might be the man you’re supposed to spend the rest of your life with.”

“What should I do, then? Walk up and down the street naked? I know I’ll find a great man, then,” she teased, knowing all the real freaks would then be coming out of the woodwork.

“I could see you doing that, too.” Jasmine laughed. “Don’t fear. I have another idea.”

“Please, not another blind date!” She held up her hand as if to stop her friend.

“No, seriously, what if I gave you a pass to that club, Ties That Bind?”

“Do you think I would have fun?” she prodded.

“Yes, I think you would,” she said.

That could be interesting.

She’d heard some of the fun Jasmine had while at the club, and it sounded like she could have a good time also. Jasmine never seemed to tire of telling stories about the latest adventures she and her husband had while at the club.

I don’t think I would want to go as far as she does, but adventure is adventure. What the hell! I might as well take a chance.
